St Valentine’s. Fourteen days and counting.
For those of you without a calendar I should point out that today is the first day of February, which means that St Valentine’s day is a mere two weeks away. You have, I’m sure, made all the arrangements necessary in the celebration of this event with your chosen love. You have reserved that corner table in your favourite restaurant, haven’t you? No? Oh dear, best get a move on, I think. Sitting on the sofa watching ‘Match Of The Day’ with a take away pizza on your lap does not really qualify as a romantic evening, even if you have splashed out six quid on a bottle of Tesco’s Cava.
And what about a card? Will you make your own? That’s always a good idea, and some fine and very romantic Valentine’s day love poems can be found here (even though the site is sponsored by Pizza Hut). There are also lots of pretty dreadful suggestions for designs to be found through Google, but worth a search all the same. You will find Photoshop templates, gooey hand-crafted designs and ‘offbeat’ ideas that pass for wit. The world is your oyster for the taking of a little trouble.
But, of course, the real, and not terribly subliminal, message behind this post is to suggest that you might want to consider taking the slightly easier option of selecting one of the extremely romantic and totally original drawings available here. A very affordable gift that, I’m sure you’ll agree, will be a lasting treasure.
